22 February 2023

Nordhausen (HSPN): On 21 February, young researchers from northern Thuringia presented their competition entries for the regional "JUGEND FORSCHT" competition under the motto "Make ideas big!". Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences was involved as a sponsor.

Young researchers from Northern Thuringia impressed the judges in the morning with exciting projects from the fields of biology, geosciences and spatial sciences, technology, mathematics, physics, computer science and the world of work. The jury was made up of professors, HSN students and staff, specialist teachers and practitioners from regional companies and institutions.

The regional competition, which this year thankfully took place in the Nordhausen City Library, was opened by Mrs Herz, the regional manager YOUTH RESEARCHES Northern Thuringia. The competition participants and the judges were also welcomed by the university president, Prof Dr Jörg Wagner, who encouraged the young researchers in his welcoming address and expressed the hope that one or two of the talented youngsters might one day be encountered as students on the campus of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.

This was followed by the presentations of the entries, the jury discussions and finally the award ceremony. The prizes were presented by Mr Oberbüchler (member of the board of Kreissparkasse Nordhausen) and Dr Günther (STIFT Thüringen board member).

The Nordhausen District Savings Bank supported the regional competition financially this year. We would like to express our sincere thanks for this.
