Shaping change together - successful start to the new Master's degree programme in Human Resources and Change Management in Non-Profit Organisations in the Social Management study area

Saturday 18 October 2025 marked the start of our new six-semester Master's degree course in Human Resources and Change Management in Non-Profit Organisations in the Social Management study area. Nine students from very different professional backgrounds started the winter semester together - ready to actively shape change in their organisations.

The day began with a warm welcome and a lively round of introductions with the usual questions: Who am I? What have I done so far? And - somewhat tongue-in-cheek - the question: "What wouldn't I normally say in a round of introductions?"

It became clear that the composition of the group is as diverse as the occupational field itself.
The students bring experience from event management, social counselling, HR departments, management activities in elderly care, training support, project management and the field of health promotion. This diversity promises exciting discussions and perspectives for joint learning.

"The start of the programme has shown how much energy and openness there is in this new group of students. Shaping change together is not just something that is studied here, but something that is lived from the very beginning."

Prof. Dr Andreas Bergknapp, Head of degree programme

The Master's degree programme is starting a new chapter with a great deal of momentum and the joy of joint discovery, and complements our previous undergraduate Bachelor's degree programme in Social Management with a consecutive Master's degree programme that can also be studied part-time.
