231 recent graduates attended the graduation ceremony in the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences' Audimax to receive their Bachelor's and Master's certificates as well as the coveted Bachelor's and Master's mugs that every FHN alumni receives.
After the welcoming address by UAS President Prof Dr Jörg Wagner and greetings from the Mayor of Nordhausen, Matthias Jendricke, the 2nd Deputy Mayor of the District of Nordhausen, Stefan Nüßle, and the Chairman of the Student Council of Nordhausen UAS, Lars Domes, the long-awaited documents were finally presented in two rounds.
Frederic Peinemann, a graduate of the "Regenerative energy technology"when he was asked not to leave the stage after receiving his certificate. He is the five hundredth alumni of the degree programme and was therefore surprised by his professors.
Frederic Peinemann studied at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences from 2009 to 2014. In September, he defended his bachelor's thesis on the topic: "Energetic consideration of regenerative energy concepts for non-residential buildings using the case study of the new Sophienklinik building in Hanover" with a grade of 1.0. When asked why he chose the "Regenerative Energy Technology" degree programme at the time, the engineer has a clear answer. "I really wanted to study something with a promising future. The connection to building technology was also particularly important to me." During his studies, Frederic Peinemann started his own business in the field of building drying and gained a lot of practical experience. Today, the recent alumnus works as a planner in energy-efficient building refurbishment at Ingenieurgesellschaft Meinhardt Fulst in Goslar.
"Maybe I'll get a Master's mug one day," jokes the engineer. "I liked it at the FHN and a Master's programme is not out of the question."
