Students at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences are asking for help for the exhibition project against age discrimination.

Has anyone ever told you that you still look good for your age? Do people still take you seriously? These are sayings that older people often hear. At the same time, young people are told things like "Grow up! When I was your age, I had to...". Age discrimination is an issue that affects us all. Prejudice harms social cohesion and should be made visible. This is the only way we can do something about it.

Students at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences are asking for help. As part of a seminar, a small group of students from the curative education and social work degree programmes are looking at the prejudices that people experience because of their age. One aim of the course is to draw attention to the topic and to realise a small exhibition at the end of the course. To this end, we invite everyone to share their experiences with us. You have the opportunity to send us texts, pictures, audio or video files, which we can include in the exhibition anonymously if you wish. In addition to personal experience reports, we also welcome requests for change and images that break with typical ideas about ageing.

Please send us your material either by e-mail to  or by post by 14.05.2024 to the following address: Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, Dr Andrea Kenkmann, Weinberghof 4, 99734 Nordhausen.

The exhibition is expected to take place in July. The exact date and venue are yet to be announced.
