Prof Dr Gernot Kaiser is a business economist and expert in the field of logistics and procurement management. He teaches on the Business Administration, International Business Administration and Industrial Engineering degree programmes at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. Born in Zeitz, he studied Business Administration and Business Education at the FSU Jena and has now returned to Thuringia via three other universities - EBS University of Business and Law, RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and TU Darmstadt.
The newly appointed professor is just 35 years young and already brings three children and around ten years of teaching experience, including 4.5 years as a junior professor, with him to Thuringia.
"I am very pleased to be able to concentrate on teaching students at Nordhausen UAS. In particular, I bring stochastic models of material and production planning with me, which are taught rather cautiously at most universities, although there is a lot of practical potential in them. I am also looking forward to the research collaboration with my colleagues. My research focuses on human behavioural components in materials and production management. From this perspective, a professorship in an economics and social sciences department is ideal, especially in combination with an engineering department at the same university," emphasises Professor Kaiser.
