The project proposal submitted to the IBA Thuringia was developed under the leadership of Prof. Dr Dagmar Everding, professor on the degree programme "Energetic-ecological urban redevelopment" at the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
The project idea is to initiate innovative energy concepts, monitor them with the help of a monitoring system, make the results visible and sensitise citizens to the topic. Starting from the railway station as an energy and mobility centre, energy trails are to lead through the landscape along the Nordhausen rivers. In their project description, Ariane Ruff and Dagmar Everding also suggest competitions for construction projects, student projects on energy topics and a centre for applied research in northern Thuringia.
The university will work closely with the city of Nordhausen and Park Hohenrode to realise the project. In particular, the urban planner Petra Diemer and the founder of the "Park Hohenrode" e.V. association, Gisela Hartmann, will be involved in the project. In this way, the project submitted by the city in the Bรคckerstraรe neighbourhood with the highest standards of technical-energetic and urban planning-architectural solutions as well as Park Hohenrode (exemplary civic initiative and energy project in one) will be actively integrated into the package of measures and the network of stakeholders.
