Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Kreissparkasse Nordhausen are taking the next step in their long-standing collaboration: on 23 February 2026, the two partners signed a cooperation agreement for a new practice-integrated study format in the field of business administration (BWL). The programme is scheduled to start in the winter semester 2026/27.

The new model is aimed at young people who want to combine their studies and career right from the start. In addition to a sound business education, students focus clearly on banking and finance - this accounts for around 25 per cent of the course. Fixed practical phases at Kreissparkasse Nordhausen ensure that theory and professional experience are directly intertwined. Whether financial products, risk assessment or customer advice: students learn where financial practice actually takes place.
„We want to keep well-educated young people in the region - and not let them leave,“ emphasises University President Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner.
The new study programme is also an investment in the future for Kreissparkasse Nordhausen.
Thomas Seeber, CEO of Kreissparkasse Nordhausen, explains: „We want to actively support this study programme. Our aim is to support talented people at an early stage, give them real practical insights and open up long-term career prospects at Kreissparkasse Nordhausen.“
With the new degree programme format, both partners are responding to the growing demand for practical study models and creating attractive career opportunities in the financial sector - directly in Nordhausen.
