The Karzer student club was founded on 5 May 1999 and opened its doors to students at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences for the first time on 11 November 1999. Since then, many students have been involved in the Karzer on a voluntary basis and regularly organise events.

To relax between lectures and enjoy a coffee or cold drink, the Karzer café is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00. Events are also regularly organised in the evenings. The cultural evening takes place on Thursdays. In this context, bands perform or games evenings are spent together. On 13 June 2019, a poetry slam will take place in the Karzer, where three poets from the Thuringian High Slamer will perform their texts. In addition to musical accompaniment, you can listen to the texts and have a great time together.

The Karzer also organises regular themed parties on Tuesdays, which are seen by students as a welcome break from the daily lecture routine. They give students the opportunity to celebrate big moments during their studies. These include start and end of term parties, graduation parties, etc. Every year, the Karzer organises a big campus party. This year, the Karzer is once again inviting students to celebrate together on campus on 19 June 2019.

Under the motto "By students for students", the Karz student club is always on the lookout for new members and committed helpers!
