Languages open doors - and movement connects: The "German as a Foreign Language" (DaF) team from the Language Centre at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences took part in the company hiking day in Halle (Saale) and proved that promoting foreign languages and teamwork can go hand in hand.

After the intensive meeting phase, the team took the opportunity to recharge their batteries and strengthen their team spirit. The route, which was around ten kilometres long, led from the planetarium across the picturesque Pulverweiden meadows with a view of the Saale floodplain to the racecourse, where a refreshment station provided new energy. The end of the walk was the idyllic PeiรŸnitzinsel, where the day ended with a relaxed "After Walk Chill Out" with fruit, snacks and drinks.

The Language Centre at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is a central component of all Bachelor's degree courses and the English-language Master's degree courses and prepares students for the demands of the global job market. With courses in English, Spanish, French, Italian and German as a foreign language, it teaches key skills for study, work and international co-operation. Students also benefit from practice-orientated courses such as "Academic Writing" and "Meetings and Negotiations".

"Our work thrives on international diversity and intercultural exchange - this also requires a strong team," emphasises the DaF team. "Joint activities such as this hiking day are therefore more than just a sporting balance: they strengthen the basis for our daily work with students from all over the world."
