The Language Centre at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is proud to have been re-elected to the Standing Committee of the Arbeitskreis der Sprachenzentren an Hochschulen e. V. (AKS). The re-election on 8 March confirms the Language Centre's ongoing commitment to language education and research.

The AKS is an important professional organisation for language centres at German-speaking universities and comprises more than 150 member institutions from Germany, China, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. The association plays a central role in the professionalisation of language training, the development of skills in foreign languages and the promotion of activity-based teaching and learning methods. By organising symposia and conferences and publishing specialist publications, the AKS sets important accents in language didactics.

The Language Centre at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, represented by its director Alexandra Aberle, will continue to be actively involved in the Standing Committee over the next two years. Its participation in the Public Relations Working Group, in which it has already been successful in the past, is particularly noteworthy. The re-election underlines the recognition of the Language Centre's expertise and innovative approaches, particularly in the area of foreign language learning and teaching.

Other successes in recent years include the awarding of the Bremen Research Prize to two teachers at the Language Centre - a recognition for outstanding research work in the field of foreign language learning and teaching.
