Senior citizens who attended the "Fundamentals of Mental Disorders" and "Psychology" courses in the winter semester have already had a positive experience. The participants reported that they enjoyed discussing and learning together with young students. The opportunity to experience different perspectives and engage with new insights was perceived as very valuable.
In the summer semester, the university is continuing its programme for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge and improve their skills, regardless of age. The programme is open to anyone who would like to learn together with students after their professional career in order to promote intergenerational cohesion and enable new ways of learning.
The programme for the summer semester includes exciting topics ranging from early childhood development to intergenerational projects and gerontology. A wide range of subject areas are on offer, including psychology, psychotherapy, gerontology, conflict and crisis management, democracy education, as well as chemistry, bioprocess engineering, robotics, media and artificial intelligence, scientific work and languages. The mixture of different disciplines enables a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience.
The participation costs for the summer semester are as follows: With a regular timetable, the costs for senior citizens with all student discounts amount to a maximum of 318.33 euros per semester. As a guest student, you can take part in a weekly 90-minute individual course for just 60 euros per semester. Guest students have the opportunity to attend up to four of these courses per semester. In this case, the maximum cost is 150.00 euros per semester.
The mix of different disciplines enables participants to gain a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience.
Anyone interested is cordially invited to find out more about the programme. On 26 March, at 14:00-15:00, you can get advice in person from Dr Andrea Kenkmann and Szilvia Schelenhaus in seminar room 26 in building 18 of the university (right next to the bus stop on the A-university line).
