8 March 2019

Nordhausen (HSPN) Prof Dr Ariane Ruff will represent the field of "Urban Resources" in teaching and research at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences from the summer semester 2019.

When Prof. Wagner presented the certificate of appointment, he emphasised that the appointment of a new professor at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is a wonderful moment, because every new lecturer brings their subject-specific knowledge with them and thus gives the university new impetus. Ms Ruff already knows Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences very well: she worked as a research assistant in the university's Department of Engineering from 2003 to 2015. During this time, she was responsible for applying for, planning, coordinating and implementing collaborative research projects and third-party funded projects, while also gaining experience in teaching.

In 2015, she started a new job in the Wartburg district. There, she was responsible for district development and public transport as well as deputy head of district planning at the district administration office. In 2017, she completed her doctoral studies at the Institute of Architecture and Spatial Development at the University of Liechtenstein as a Doctor of Science (Dr sc.).

In the future, she will contribute her expertise to the Master's degree course in Energy-Ecological Urban Redevelopment and take on a leading role in setting up the newly founded Thuringian Innovation Centre for Recyclable Materials at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
