The Master Science Camp of the Thuringian Engineering Alliance will take place from 29 August to 2 September 2022. Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is organising the Master Science Camp'22 and inviting five Master's students from each of the seven Thuringian universities in the THรœR ING alliance to North Thuringia. For one week, students will work in interdisciplinary teams and in co-operation with universities and companies on engineering topics related to sustainability.

Every semester, the THรœR ING alliance organises a science camp at different locations, where interested students can deal with overarching issues away from the regular curriculum and network with each other and with the local economy. Accompanied by exciting specialist lectures, the focus is on doing things yourself, experimenting and trying things out and, of course, enjoying the subject matter.

After the students have already familiarised themselves with the topic of sustainability via online courses and developed project ideas in collaboration with practice partners, the focus is now on doing. The extensive practical work will be flanked by special lectures on topics such as energy-efficient communication and data economy (Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Carsten Heise VDI) or corporate social responsibility (Prof. Dr Sven Mรผller-Grune). And of course there will also be plenty of student socialising with barbecues and joint excursions.

Finally, the project ideas developed are presented to the interested audience in short pitches and awarded prizes.

Similar science camps will continue to take place at other THรœR ING Alliance locations in the future and form an important pillar of the ProTELC (Pro Thuringian Engineering Life Cycle) project. The next one is already planned for spring 2023. Five students from each university will work in mixed teams on real industrial problems. Joint courses at the universities will prepare the science camps.
