Regional institutions from the social sector presented themselves at this specialised fair. It was primarily aimed at students on social studies and public management programmes. However, students from other degree programmes who would like to volunteer were also very welcome.
The trade fair was accompanied and framed by lectures, workshops and presentations on the topic of "Social Business". The accompanying event began at 11.30 am. It was opened by the Vice President for Research and Development, Prof Dr Viktor Wesselak. This was followed by a lecture on "Improving the world and earning money - opportunities and misunderstandings" by Martin Arnold, the initiator of Werft 34 in Erfurt.
Various workshops were offered throughout the day, which culminated in a competition in which students from Nordhausen UAS had the opportunity to present their "social ideas" for initiatives, associations etc. to a jury within 3 minutes.
The best social ideas were awarded by the President of the FHN, Prof Dr Jörg Wagner.
The following were honoured:
- 1st place: Felix Hechtel & Jonathan Gatzer with "Eulizia - student legal advice from students for students" under the direction of Prof Dr Torsten Schaumberg
- 2nd place: Celestin Stretz with "Green Islands"
- 3rd place: Silvana Meyer with "Founding a hospice in Thuringia"
- 4th place: Team "Spuren hinterlassen" with the joint project "Spuren hinterlassen"
"The day was a good opportunity for the students to make contacts, ask questions and expand their own network," said the organisers Dr Kareen Schlangen and Nicola Bargfrede from Nordhausen UAS.
