The #StudyGreenEnergy information event on 26 January promotes degree programmes in the field of renewable energies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Anyone who chooses a degree programme in the field of renewable energies is investing in the future. "It's worth it," says Prof Dr Klaus Vajen, spokesperson for the university group of the #StudyGreenEnergy network. "You can be part of something really big - namely the conversion of the fossil fuel energy system to a renewable energy system," says the expert in solar and plant technology at the University of Kassel.
"At Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, we offer two Bachelor's degree programmes in Regenerative Energy Technology and Industrial Engineering and Management for Sustainable Technologies that focus on real topics of the future," adds Dr Pascal Leibbrandt. He is a research assistant at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and, together with his colleagues, is responsible for these degree programmes. "All of our graduates get a job immediately after completing their studies. The notice board with job advertisements at the Institute of Regenerative Energy Technology is fuller than ever."
Nevertheless, student numbers in this field are falling in German-speaking countries. This is why the #StudyGreenEnergy network, which includes the University of Kassel, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and numerous other universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, is holding a digital information event on 26 January at 4 p.m. to provide information about the various courses on offer in the field of renewable energy.
Klaus Russell-Wells, operator of the award-winning YouTube channel "Joul", on which he presents scientific topics relating to renewable energies in videos, will conduct interviews with engineers who will share their experiences in the industry. Why should you study renewable energies? What is the current situation in the energy supply sector? How does a degree programme like this actually work? What areas of responsibility will you take on later - and what are the job opportunities in general? #StudyGreenEnergy answers these and other questions. Questions can also be posted directly in the chat using the comment function. The participating universities will then provide information about their individual programmes.
