The participants of the fifth cohort of the certificate programme "Network Technology and Network Operation District Heating" at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences proudly and happily accepted their graduation certificates. They were presented by course director Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Wiese and representatives of the certificate course's cooperation partners: Frank Espig, Head of Technology & Standardisation at the Energy Efficiency Association for Heating, Cooling and Combined Heat and Power (AGFW), and Jens Merten, Energy Technology Officer at the TEAG Academy.

The certificate programme, which is unique in Germany, is aimed at experienced engineers, technicians and master craftsmen who want to actively contribute to the energy supply of the future and help shape the heating transition. In a total of seven modules, students study the fundamentals of modern district heating supply.
The programme prepares students specifically for challenging tasks in the district heating sector - from planning to operation and maintenance. What makes it special: Theory and practice are closely intertwined. Participants benefit from a practical teaching concept with lectures, seminars, excursions to practice partners and laboratory applications, which are taught by recognised experts at the university, but also directly at the partner companies and the TEAG Academy.
For the first time, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences was also able to welcome participants from Austria in this round - a clear sign of the growing reach and attractiveness of the programme beyond the country's borders.
"With this study programme, we are making an important contribution to the qualification of specialists in the field of district heating - a central component of the energy transition," says Prof. Dr.-Ing.
Further information on the certificate programme can be found in the "Continuing Education" section of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences website.
