Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is delighted to announce the successful completion of Felix Wlassak's doctorate, who has been working in the Department of Engineering since autumn 2024. Born in Leipzig, he teaches engineering mathematics in modules 1 to 4 and enriches teaching at the university with his broad specialist background.

Felix Wlassak studied to become a secondary school teacher for maths, computer science and English as well as maths for a diploma. His doctoral thesis at the University of Leipzig is entitled: "Design features and types of exercises from Analysis I - results of a descriptive study". In his work, he analyses the variety and structure of mathematical exercises and thus makes an important contribution to mathematics didactic research.

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences warmly congratulates Dr Wlassak on this academic milestone.

"For me, my doctorate was an intensive journey through the world of maths didactics. I am delighted that I can use my research findings to make a contribution to improving the design of maths teaching - and that I can now incorporate these findings directly into my teaching at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences," says Felix Wlassak.

With his scientific expertise and pedagogical commitment, Dr Wlassak makes a significant contribution to the further development of engineering education at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
