24. July 2015

In June 2016, the first twenty students from China will be welcomed to Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. The background to this is a cooperation between Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Hebei University of Technology in Tianjin, China.

University President Prof Dr Jörg Wagner had already signed a corresponding cooperation agreement at Heibei University, one of China's elite universities, during a delegation trip to China in 2014.

The aim of this cooperation is to jointly launch a so-called "2+2 degree programme". Selected students with particularly good grades will study in China for two years. During this time, they also acquire extensive German language skills. After successfully passing a German test, these students will be able to study at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences for the next two years.

This model will initially be implemented in the „Environmental and Recycling Technology“ degree programme and offers both sides the opportunity to gain valuable experience.

Representatives from Hebei University, including Professor Huang Chao, Professor Suying Gao, project manager Thomas Shi and Ma Dai from the International Affairs Office, travelled to Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences on 23 June to agree the final details of the planned "2+2 degree programme".
