During the transformation, established companies are required to change their core business and open up new business areas. An event organised by Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences will focus on how established corporations and SMEs can go about this. On 17 January 2019 at 18:00, Prof. Dr Lutz Göcke, Professor of General Business Administration, in particular International Business Administration at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, will be hosting a themed evening on "Digital Transformation in the Automotive Industry" in Lecture Hall 1 at the university.
Prof Göcke has invited a number of interesting speakers. Falk Bothe from Volkswagen AG will give an initial presentation on the digital transformation in the automotive industry and discuss the particular challenges facing the Volkswagen Group. Mr Bothe heads the Digital Transformation Office at Volkswagen AG and will therefore be able to provide many insights into the challenges of the transformation process. This will be followed by a panel discussion with Mr Bothe, Dr Andre Hanelt (Head of Digital Transformation Center, University of Göttingen) and Sebastian Kupfer (Managing Director of Intrasol GmbH). Dr Hanelt will contribute current findings from research and Sebastian Kupfer the challenger's perspective to the discussion. The audience will actively shape the panel discussion with their own questions and thus contribute to a fruitful discussion.
The following day, students at the university will have the opportunity to experience the digital transformation with the help of a simulation. This simulation is used to accompany the change process at Volkswagen AG. The aim of the digital transformation simulation is to make it easier to experience and visualise the digital transformation and thus create a common language. The Digital Transformation Simulation is a method for creating space for dialogue, developing ideas, exchanging expertise and offering collaboration to shape the change!
