Having already met with the local staff councils and representatives from the research and teaching communities at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, the four Thuringian state universities of applied sciences (HAW) met again on Thursday, 20 August 2026.
Yesterday, representatives from the university administrations met. The aim was to work together to better prepare the university administrations for current and future challenges and to strategically advance their further development. In addition to opportunities for cooperation and making use of staff members’ diverse skills, the focus was also on collaboration in the field of digitalisation to strengthen Thuringia’s universities of applied sciences. The participants share a common understanding of shaping the further development of university administrations through a participatory process, whilst adopting a forward-looking perspective.
The cross-university dialogue will continue and be further developed over the coming months. The shared aim is to develop new approaches to ensure that university administration remains efficient and service-oriented, and to strengthen the exchange of views on key issues for the future. In this way, the participating universities aim to provide important impetus for shaping their administrative structures.
