The innovation centre hike at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is offering a format called HIKEahton that aims to solve the problems of the energy crisis in two days. Find out exactly what this looks like and how you can take part here.

The topic of the energy crisis is omnipresent and concerns Europe at all levels. Under the motto: "Social problems require joint solutions"the hike team, led by Prof Dr Lutz Göcke, has developed the format "HIKEathon X Energy Crisis" considered.

Solutions to the energy crisis are developed at this open innovation workshop. The special thing about the HIKEathon is the inclusion of all interest groups from the outset and the interdisciplinary nature of the participants. The project is already being supported by a large number of partner companies from Nordhausen, who are helping to support the format and are also sending employees to the 2-day sprint themselves. These include the city of Nordhausen, the district of Nordhausen, EVN, MAXIMATOR Hydrogen, SWG, HORIZONT e.V Nordhausen, the HECK group of companies and many more.

An innovation workshop always starts with the challenges you want to solve. Instead of setting a specific goal, the hike team calls on everyone to share their challenge in the context of the energy crisis.

You too can submit a challenge on the topic of the energy crisis via an online form by 31 October. Contribute your professional or personal perspective on the topic. Entrepreneur Axel Heck, for example, shows what this can look like in practice with his formulated challenge: "How can we as a company use the electricity we produce elsewhere?"

The hike team would like to emphasise at this point that all suggestions are welcome, regardless of whether they are of a technical, social, cultural or economic nature.

All submissions will be reviewed by a jury of partners and professors at the beginning of November. The selection of challenges to be worked on at the HIKEathon from 9-10 December will also be published on the HIKEathon website at the beginning of November.

In addition, interested parties can also register as active participants in the HIKEathon and work on a selected challenge themselves in mixed small groups. Here you will learn creative and strategic working methods under the guidance of the hike team. The groups will also have the chance to win prizes at the end of the events. All participants will also receive a certificate at the end of the event, certifying their participation and the qualifications they have acquired.
