Using e-media at home

Members of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences can use Shibboleth to access licenced electronic services (databases, journals or e-books) from outside the university campus.

By means of a single sign-on, university members can use various services regardless of their current location. The type of device used (e.g. laptop, tablet PC or smartphone) is irrelevant.

In the database Beck online currently contains around 550 e-books on legal topics.

Within the university, you have access to 1,000 e-books from EBSCOhost. E-books from the following subject areas are available:

  • Business and Economics
  • Science and Engineering
  • Social and Behavioural Sciences
  • Humanities
  • Area Studies

The e-books are also available via the Discovery Tool or the OPAC can be researched in the university library.

The Hanser eLibrary provides 16 titles on engineering topics. These can be researched using the Discovery Tool.

As part of a DFG grant, you have access to around 1,700 e-books, primarily on legal topics.

All titles are available as a complete download from the campus network. The e-books are also available via the Discovery Tool or the OPAC can be researched in the university library.

Around 780 e-books from the social sciences are available via the ProQuest platform. It is possible to download the e-books chapter by chapter.
