Nordhausen - Two long-serving employees at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences have been honoured for their 25 years of public service. University President Prof Dr Jörg Wagner personally presented the certificates from the Free State of Thuringia and thanked both employees for their constant commitment - on behalf of the entire university community.

The following were honoured:

• Simone Krauthöfer, Administrative Business Administrator (VWA), Team Assistant in the Dean's Office of the Department of Engineering, Institute of Computer Science, Automation and Electronics (IAE)
• Michael Franz, Dipl.-Ing. (FH), Laboratory Engineer in the Department of Engineering, Institute of Computer Science, Automation and Electronics (IAE)

Simone Krauthöfer has been working as a team assistant in the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Engineering for 25 years. Her wide range of tasks includes liaising with the central facilities, administration, teaching staff and, of course, the students in the department.

Personnel matters and tasks at committee meetings have been an integral part of the programme for many years and contribute to the smooth running of the university.

Michael Franz has been guiding generations of students through the practical basics of their engineering studies for a quarter of a century. In the laboratory, he supervises practical courses on measurement technology, electrical engineering and communication and information systems - courses that characterise many students' entry into the practice-oriented engineering degree programme at HSN. As a member of the IAE, he is also involved in the institute's research work. In addition, Michael Franz has been involved in the university's staff council for many years, where he campaigns for the interests of employees.

„These colleagues have helped to shape and characterise the development of our university over decades. Their knowledge, loyalty and energy are an invaluable foundation - not only for the students, but for the entire academic community,“ emphasised President Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner.
