Six deserving members of staff at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences were honoured for their 25 years of public service. President Prof Dr Jörg Wagner personally presented the certificates from the Free State of Thuringia and expressed his thanks - also on behalf of the entire university community.

The following were honoured:

• Dr Bernd Schwien (Department of Economics and Social Sciences)
• Dr Birgit Lustermann (Research assistant in the Department of Engineering Sciences)
• Fred Wagner (Head of Media Centre - 25 years in public service)
• Dr Uwe Saint-Mont (Department of Economics and Social Sciences - 20 years at HSN, 25 years in public service)
• Dr Marcus Schäfer (Department of Economics and Social Sciences)
• Dr phil. Cordula Borbe (Vice President for Studies and Teaching, Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences)

In addition to the official certificate, the honourees also received an anniversary bonus and an additional day off as a sign of recognition.

"These colleagues have helped to shape and characterise the development of our university over decades. Their knowledge, loyalty and energy are an invaluable foundation - not only for the students, but for the entire academic community," emphasised President Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner. "It fills me with joy and pride to be able to thank them today - and I look back with them on a quarter of a century of university history."

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences began operations in 1998 with three degree programmes. Today, it is an established, modern university with a wide range of degree programmes and a national reputation - not least thanks to the dedication of its staff.
