Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is strengthening its team of professors in the Faculty of Engineering: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mürsel Yildiz will take up the professorship for "IT Security in Digitalisation" on 1 February 2025. The appointment was made by the President of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, Prof Dr Jörg Wagner.

"I am very much looking forward to working with Mr Yildiz in the future and to how his extensive experience and expertise will enrich teaching and research at our university," emphasises Prof. Dr Wagner.

Prof Dr Mürsel Yildiz has been a lecturer at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences since 2023. He specialises in IT security, embedded systems and automotive informatics, in particular AUTOSAR and Linux OS. His doctorate dealt with the topic of "Load balancing in user-centred networks with special consideration of artificial intelligence and wireless networks".

"Digitalisation is progressing inexorably, and with it the challenges in the field of IT security are growing. I look forward to preparing students for these challenges and developing innovative solutions together," says Yildiz.

In addition to his academic career, he has extensive industrial experience. He has worked in various sectors such as telecommunications, automotive, e-commerce and energy and has also been involved in the development and technical management of numerous series products. These include telematic control units, intelligent antenna systems for vehicles, smart access technologies and chip card terminals.

His involvement in research projects is reflected in his participation in international programmes such as ITEA Avanti and uLoop (EU FP7). With Prof Dr Ing Mürsel Yildiz, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has gained an expert who not only enriches teaching, but also provides important impetus for applied research in IT security issues.
