The partnership focuses on the long-term joint development and retention of skilled workers for the region. Particular emphasis is placed on study programmes that combine theoretical learning with practical experience „Study and Practice“ and „Study and Work Experience Plus“, which help to forge links between students and businesses at an early stage and provide them with practical skills. In addition, further training programmes tailored to specific needs are to be developed, and new degree programmes are to be jointly assessed and established, for example in the field of 110 kV power supply and electricity grid infrastructure.
In addition, joint initiatives are planned to recruit and train international skilled workers. The aim is to tackle the regional shortage of skilled workers in the long term.
„Collaboration with strong partners from the regional business community is a key component of our university’s development. Through dialogue with businesses, we can align our research and teaching even more effectively with current societal and technological challenges. TEAG is a strong partner with whom we can advance shared visions for strengthening Thuringia as a centre of innovation in teaching, research and knowledge transfer,“ says Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner, President of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
TEAG Thüringer Energie AG also sees great opportunities for both sides in this collaboration. „Combining scientific expertise with practical experience provides new impetus for the region and supports the transfer of knowledge between the university and industry,“ said Domenika Heimann, Head of Human Resources at the TEAG Thüringer Energie AG.
The partnership strengthens the links between Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and the regional energy sector. It creates new opportunities for technology transfer, promotes the training of qualified young professionals and helps to jointly develop innovative solutions to future challenges.
