Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Melexis GmbH signed a cooperation agreement on 24 May to strengthen collaboration in the area of dual studies. Present at the signing were Jessica Völlger, Managing Director of Melexis GmbH, Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner, President of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr Mario Schölzel, Professor of Processors and Digital Systems at the university and initiator of the contact, and Thomas Füldner from the university's Transferwerk, responsible for the acquisition of cooperation partners.

The cooperation aims to offer students at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences practical training opportunities and at the same time meet Melexis GmbH's need for qualified junior staff. In the field of electrical engineering in particular, the dual study programme is intended to support future specialists.

Jessica Völlger, Managing Director of Melexis GmbH, explained: "Like many other companies, we are also looking for qualified junior staff, particularly in the field of electrical engineering. By offering a dual study programme, we want to create another opportunity to attract skilled workers." Prof. Dr Mario Schölzel, Professor of Computer Engineering at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, emphasised: "The cooperation with Melexis offers our students excellent opportunities to gain practical experience and establish valuable contacts with industry." Prof Dr Jörg Wagner, President of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, added: "It is important to raise awareness that there are also excellent career opportunities in Thuringia. Cooperations with innovative companies such as Melexis are therefore of great importance."

Melexis GmbH in Germany is a subsidiary of the global Melexis Group, which develops innovative semiconductor solutions. These solutions are mainly used in the automotive industry to increase the efficiency and safety of vehicles, especially electric vehicles. In addition to the automotive sector, Melexis also serves markets such as alternative mobility, smart buildings and healthcare. The German sites are located in Erfurt, Dresden and Düsseldorf.

This partnership marks an important step in promoting the dual study programme and supporting the next generation of electrical engineering specialists.
