The only continuing education, part-time Master's degree programme in this field in Germany is aimed at professionals who work in the family-oriented developmental support of children with developmental risks or impairments and disabilities. The specialists work in interdisciplinary early intervention centres, social paediatric centres, integrative day-care centres and other outpatient or day-care facilities. The programme focuses in particular on modern, family-oriented early intervention that is geared towards the living environment of families.

In addition to professors from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, the interdisciplinary teaching team is made up of other national and international professors and lecturers from academia and practice.

Another special feature of the programme is the module "Developmental Psychology Basics - EPG", which is offered jointly with the Martha Muchow Institute in Berlin. This module is the first of two components of the certified training for "Developmental Psychological Counselling (EPB)". This training course is a highly topical and widely used form of video-based counselling for families in risk situations in early intervention and early help services throughout Germany.

Together with the new first-year students, a total of 34 people from all over Germany are currently studying the Master's programme. Other external specialists are taking part in individual modules of the programme in the form of further training.

The next round of the Master's programme will start in the 2019/2020 winter semester. If you are interested in studying or continuing your education, you can find more information on the Study programme page.
