"Demo Day" at the university - this is not about protests, but about presenting innovative start-up ideas as part of the university incubator "hike" - the "incubator" for new business start-ups.

As part of the Long Night of Science at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, innovative start-ups that have received intensive support from the university incubator in developing their ideas in recent months will be presenting themselves in the university's Audimax on Saturday, 24 May 2025 between 7:15 pm and 8:45 pm. The Long Night of Science officially begins at 6 p.m. and transforms the campus into a lively place of research, amazement and participation until midnight - with a varied programme covering all aspects of technology, digitalisation, society, the environment and health.

The hike startup teams - including anfang., Amore&More, Doku Assistent, Carbon X and many more. - will present the ideas and successes they have achieved in recent months. The audience plays a special role here: it decides which team is the most convincing and wins the audience award, which is kindly provided by Kreissparkasse Nordhausen and beteiligungsmanagement thüringen GmbH. The teams, consisting of employees and students from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, impressively demonstrate the importance of an active start-up and entrepreneurial culture for the city of Nordhausen and the entire region of North Thuringia.

From innovative apps for bereavement counselling and reducing the ecological footprint, a platform for dating activities to artificial intelligence in social services, the start-ups cover a wide range of industries and interests. The event offers a unique opportunity to meet the brains behind these creative projects in person at a relaxed networking event.

In addition to the pitches, the Demo Day also offers the opportunity to experience the startups' prototypes first-hand. The event not only creates a presentation platform for the start-ups, but also an opportunity for students and the local community to network with potential investors and experts.

As part of the Long Night of Science, the Demo Day is one of many exciting programme items that show how lively and future-oriented research and teaching are at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
