A cooperation agreement was signed at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences on 13 August 2025: Jugendsozialwerk Nordhausen gGmbH and Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences are joining forces to establish a practice-orientated degree programme. This opens a dynamic window towards sound vocational training and innovative university practice.

The aim of the agreement is to optimise the training of young people by closely interlinking theory and practice. Students are to gain experience and in-depth knowledge in practical organisations alongside their academic qualifications. Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences in turn strengthens its practice-orientated range of courses in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences through this cooperation.

The cooperation enables a meaningful addition to existing competences and promotes synergies between studies and professional practice: knowledge and skills flow into each other, increase innovation potential and strengthen academic education in the long term.

Prof Dr Jörg Wagner, President of the university, was delighted with the new chapter: "With this partnership, we are sending a clear signal for practical, university-based training - a real win-win situation for students, the university and practice partners."

Managing Director Gisela Morgenroth emphasised: "We are pleased to be able to train future specialists not only in theory, but also in practice. This cooperation emphasises our responsibility towards the region and our attitude of providing young people with the best possible support."
