Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences awarded teaching prizes for the first time on 8 July 2025 - as visible recognition for excellent teaching and exceptional commitment. The award was presented by the university's Executive Board. The award was based on the results of the course evaluations from the 2024/2025 academic year, in which the award-winning lecturers received particularly positive feedback from students.

"The feedback from the students shows how diverse and high-quality the teaching at our university is in all areas," says Prof Dr Cordula Borbe, Vice President for Studies and Teaching, who introduced the teaching award. "The prizewinners are delighted - and completely justified! In addition to the certificate and prize money, the award winners receive a personalised e-badge as a digital sign of their commitment on the website."

The first teaching award winners from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences are:

  • Kareen Schlangen & Kirsten Lamschus | Department of Business, Economics and Social Sciences (share the prize)
  • Dr Klaus-Peter Neitzke | Department of Engineering Sciences
  • Katrin-Josephine Wagner | Language Centre

University President Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner warmly congratulated the award winners and emphasised:

"With the teaching award, we want to make outstanding teaching visible. It's not just about recognition, but also about support - which is why the prize money is channelled into the personal budget of the lecturers. We would like to thank everyone for their valuable work."

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences plans to award the teaching prize every 3 semesters in future.
