The advanced physics course at the Berufliches Gymnasium Nordhausen was once again a guest at the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. The 11 Year 12 students were accompanied by Ms Hamann and Mr Kruse from the grammar school and experienced an engineering programme with a practical focus on campus.

In a lecture by Professor Viehmann, the topic of measurement technology and signal conditioning was explained using the example of automotive sensor technology. The young guests also received important tips and advice for their future choice of engineering degree programme. Professor Neitzke explained the basics and function of aircraft in the form of drones. This included a demonstration of various types of equipment. In another event, the students visited an automation technology laboratory. Ms Schell demonstrated the university's collaborative robot, which had to fulfil a number of automation tasks.
"Today's programme complemented our lessons with vivid practical examples and gave us an impression of the diversity of engineering work. It became clear that the development of technology is very varied and exciting," reports pupil Adrian looking back. "Every pupil should be offered an insight into the engineering sciences during the study orientation phase. Engineering is associated with tangible added value," adds Professor Viehmann.
