The importance of grid-connected heat supply for the energy transition is already evident and will continue to grow significantly in the future. The political course for this has been set or is in sight. Experts who can plan, construct and operate heating networks are already being sought by energy supply companies, industry and the housing sector, as well as contractors.

After successfully completing the training programme, graduates will be able to take responsibility for the reliable and economical implementation of tasks in project planning, network planning, operational management and/or maintenance in the district heating sector.

"The degree programme is unique in Germany and at the same time very practice-oriented. We work together with a wide range of partners who can cover a broad spectrum of content," explains Rainer Große, who has been Professor of Energy Management at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences for many years and established the degree programme.

"District heating from a steadily growing share of renewable energies is one of the key technologies for the success of the heating transition in Germany," emphasises Werner Lutsch, Managing Director of AGFW.

In the meantime, the first students have already completed the 2nd module.
