Subject area 1: Electrical machines and drives; photovoltaics

EET 3 - Synchronous machine

  • Synchronous machine in stand-alone operation (open circuit, matching, short circuit) with different load types: resistive, inductive and capacitive
  • Synchronising the machine and its behaviour on a rigid grid and operating the synchronous machine as a generator or motor

EET 4 - Asynchronous machine

  • Connecting the ASM to the existing three-phase mains, including soft start through speed control
  • Manual recording of load characteristics and power factor correction for squirrel cage motors

EET 7 - Solar pump / MPP tracking

  • Use of a photovoltaic system in conjunction with a pump system
