As part of the "Teaching Day" at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, departments, study areas and teaching staff were brought together to engage in dialogue. The programme included a variety of offers. A total of 17 lecturers offered 45-minute workshops in three categories, which focussed on didactics and methods workshops, teaching concepts and day-to-day business.
With this project, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences wants to put teaching at the centre of attention, as it is facing enormous challenges, such as the digital transformation and the effects of the pandemic. Enabling exchange within the degree programmes and departments in order to develop future-proof degree programmes, initiate research projects or simply be inspired by the methods of colleagues - these were all the goals of the day. After three challenging years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the project offered the opportunity to take a look inside and take stock in order to further develop and improve teaching.
A striking motif of the project is the interplay between the fox and the hare. These antagonists represent the "Economist", "Social Scientist" and "Engineer", who come closer together and learn from each other over the course of the project. The 45-minute sessions offered different formats. In the "Inspiring day-to-day business" section, lecturers had the opportunity to get to know the structure, methods, approaches and theories of courses from other degree programmes. In the "Didactics & Methods Workshops", impulses were given to explore didactic approaches, teaching units and interaction possibilities of other colleagues.
As a thank you for their willingness to offer something, all participants received an hour of time from a colleague at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences "from their own ranks".
The Teaching Day was organised by the Department of Studies & Teaching in cooperation with the e-Team and the university's Teaching Advisory Board.
