    Career prospects

    The master degree course Industrial Engineering should enable an universal employment of graduates, especially in the field of industrial manufacturing / manufacturing technology, including essential support processes (information technology, energy industry and circular economy), regardless of sector and company size. Typical applications are e.g. in logistics, procurement, materials management, technical sales and marketing for technical consumer and capital goods in need of explanation, in production planning, management and controlling, in circular economy and waste disposal as well as in management consultancy. The career opportunities are very good. If the master degree course is very well completed, it is possible to take up a cooperative doctoral degree program at HS Nordhausen.

    Entry requirements

    If you would like to obtain a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, we require you to have completed at least 180 ECTS credits in the fields of business administration, industrial engineering or engineering. A qualified degree is available if the degree course has at least the grade "good" or ECTS grade B. The mentioned dual access option represents a unique selling point of the degree course at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.

    Course structure

    The degree coruse Industrial Engineering has - depending on pre-qualification - a volume of 60 or 90 ECTS credits. The degree course is divided into the following fields of study:

    • Qualification structure: economics or engineering
    • Specialization I: Specialization in Economics, Engineering and Law
    • Specialization II: Mathematical Planning and Optimization Methods
    • Specialization III: Industrial Engineering
    • Interdisciplinary project: virtual seminar

    Is Industrial Engineering the right course for me?

    The target group of this degree course are graduates with a first professional qualification in the fields of business administration, industrial engineering or engineering. In engineering degrees, subject matter with manufacturing references (e.g., process engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, recycling, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, supply and disposal, etc.) should have been predominantly subject to training. In business degrees, a broad, function-related education should be given.
