I like the family environment at the university. Professors and lecturers know you by name and even the canteen staff know what my favourite side dish is on schnitzel day. My degree programme (Health and Social Work, 5th semester) offers me a huge range of future employment opportunities. I can gain a foothold in almost any social organisation later on. But the healthcare sector also has a number of opportunities in store for me. I think hardly any other degree programme is so universal.

I especially appreciate the strong focus on practical learning and innovation in my degree programme, as well as the supportive academic environment that encourages research and international collaboration. Being awarded the Deutschlandstipendium has further motivated me and reflects the university's strong culture of support and encouragement for students.

ERT taught me to see recycling as a real system materials, processes, and quality. The programme gave me practical engineering thinking that I applied directly in my industry thesis on advanced aerosol recycling in the Netherlands.

Nordhausen gave me the courage to be myself.
Coming out at CSD Nordhausen 2025 and experiencing the openness of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has been life-changing - especially as a queer student with a migration background.

I'm proud to help build a safer, more inclusive space for future queer and international students. 🌈

What I particularly like about HSN is the special campus atmosphere. The open and personal interaction creates a strong sense of community where collaboration and exchange are a matter of course. Our beautiful, green campus also offers an inspiring environment to work in, so you simply feel at home here.

What I particularly appreciate about our university is the creative freedom I have as a professor. Another important, positive aspect is the good collegial cooperation, especially in my degree programme team, but also in the entire WISO department. This is not a matter of course at universities.

How on earth did the cars end up here? 🚗What is now exclusively a footpath was actually still a car park in the late 1990s. Today, the car park is right next to it – the path now belongs to pedestrians. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️At first glance, the AKI – August Kramer Institute in the background doesn’t look as though, a few years later, it would be home to state-of-the-art technology in the fields of energy systems, materials and process engineering, and geoengineering. 😉Did the cars on the footpath puzzle you, or did you spot straight away where the photo was taken? 😊Let us know in the comments! 💬#CampusTimeTravel #TimeTravel #Campus #CampusLove #NordhausenUniversity #Nordhausen #Turingia #university
