What's really cool is that we are a small HS. This means we have to be specialists in many areas and familiarise ourselves with a lot of new areas. This is challenging and varied. The diversity is not only reflected in the interculturality but also in the activities.

The colleagues here are super nice. We know and appreciate each other and each other's work. Despite the large number of employees at the university, I work in a manageable team. I already know some of my colleagues from my studies.

Nordhausen gave me the courage to be myself.
Coming out at CSD Nordhausen 2025 and experiencing the openness of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has been life-changing - especially as a queer student with a migration background.

I'm proud to help build a safer, more inclusive space for future queer and international students. 🌈

What I like about Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is the active combination of theory and practice. As a science communicator at the Transferwerk, I appreciate the freedom to develop innovative formats that show how our research is actively shaping everyday life and the future.

What sort of building can you see there? 🏢The university’s old logo – back when it was still known as Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences – can no longer be found on any building on campus. And the blue-framed windows are also a thing of the past on our campus. 🕰️Judging by the surroundings, there’s really only one building that fits the description: that’s right, Building 19! ✅The photo shows the building before its extensive refurbishment, which was completed in 2022. It was not only modernised on the outside, but also made more energy-efficient. 🏗️Thanks to the new technical facilities, the building now offers ideal conditions for online, face-to-face and hybrid teaching, and thus the best possible environment for lecturers and students. The central lecture theatre block houses two lecture theatres, seminar rooms, computer labs and language labs. Outside the lecture theatres and down in the foyer, seating areas invite you to relax, chat and linger. Do you enjoy spending time in Building 19? Four universities in Thuringia are working together to develop the administration of the future! 🚀The state universities of applied sciences in Thuringia –🎓 @eahjena🎓 @fherfurt🎓 @hochschule_nordhausen🎓 @hs_schmalkalden – have jointly launched a structured participatory process aimed at transforming public administration. ⚙️📍Around 40 representatives from the academic community and university management at the four Thuringian universities of applied sciences met on 17 June 2026 at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences for the second of three planned participatory workshops as part of the joint administrative transformation. 🔎 The focus was on the key question:👉 What administrative services will the academic community at the four universities need in future?🎯 The aim is to ensure that, through closer integration of administrative services – extending as far as shared process structures (shared services) – professional services for research, teaching and student life at all four campuses are not only maintained but also specifically developed and strengthened in the future. 📚📉The universities are thus responding at an early stage to key challenges of the coming years, such as demographic change, skills shortages, digitalisation and increasingly scarce public funding.🤝The process is being supported by the Munich-based higher education consultancy @rheform_gmbh. 📅 What’s next? The third workshop will take place on 20 August – this time with administrative and technical staff from the four universities of applied sciences, also at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences. A roadmap will then be developed to serve as a framework for further collaboration.#Administration #Shaping the future #Education #Turingian universities #Turingia

Green lawns, blue skies, flowering shrubs – when the campus looks so lovely, it’s the perfect place to spend time. 🌳😎The library and Building 18 look just as they always have. On the roof, you can see the skylights leading to Level 4 of the library, where the economics books are kept. But something is missing from this old photo compared to today, isn’t it? 🤔Exactly, it’s Level 0 with the social science books and the floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer a wonderful view of the campus’s green spaces. No wonder the window seats are so popular. You’d almost rather enjoy the view of the greenery than bury your nose in notes and books. 📚Level 0 is also home to one of the university’s many computer rooms. The library’s computer room is mainly used for training sessions, for example on Citavi, a reference management programme that makes working with sources much easier for you. 🖥️Where do you prefer to study in the library? 🙂#CampusTimeTravel #TimeTravel #Library #Books #Campus #CampusLove #HochschuleNordhausen #Nordhausen #Turingia #university
