Technical and organisational management:

Possible applications

The equipment of the laboratory offers students of the Faculty of Engineering the opportunity to deal practically with the basics and advanced topics of communication technology and to deepen the lecture content from this area in practice.

Students familiarise themselves with various transmission media and can examine the necessary transmission methods, bus systems and protocols in detail. Furthermore, experimental setups are available for analysing various coding and modulation methods.

Devices:

  • ISDN test station,
  • Fibre optic test station (Leybold-Didactic),
  • CAN bus test station
  • Digital storage oscilloscopes of the type: Agilent 54621A (60 MHz, 200 MS/s), Tektronix TDS 2014B (100 MHz, 1GS/s)
  • Spectrum analyser Hameg HM 5011
  • Programmable function generator HM 8130
  • Programmable counter/timer HM 8122
  • Power supply units (Statron)
A communications laboratory with various technical devices and instruments. In the foreground is a computer monitor, with several measuring devices, oscilloscopes and power supply units stacked behind it. To the right are further devices and modules arranged on a table. The walls of the room are decorated with various posters and diagrams. The lab is bright and well lit, with a large window in the back that lets in natural light. There are several workstations with computers and chairs.
The picture shows several workstations with desks and chairs. On the desks are various technical devices, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, power supply units and computers. Cabinets and shelves with other laboratory equipment can be seen in the background. The walls of the room are painted white and the windows let in daylight, which brightens up the room.
