We use a corporate design to ensure that Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences presents and communicates a uniform visual image to the outside world. For the realisation of this you will find in the Intranet area on Moodle (after registration) corresponding templates, logos, colour codes, instructions for creating an e-mail signature, the font to be used, etc.
Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has signed the โDiversity Charterโ and lives up to the goals set out therein. Our aspiration is to create a culture of teaching and learning that is fair to diversity and offers all members equal opportunities and protection from discrimination, regardless of their background and life situation. At the same time, an appreciative approach to diversity can also counteract marginalising, discriminatory mechanisms and tendencies within universities. The aim is to design structures, instruments and measures to include all people in everyday university life. The diversity-sensitive design of teaching and studies, counselling and support for students should make a significant contribution to increasing equal opportunities.
By using diversity-sensitive language, we want to honour the diversity of students, staff and lecturers at the university and counteract any discrimination. For external communication (e.g. on the homepage, in emails, in marketing content, on social media channels, etc.) and in official university documents (e.g. notifications, contracts, agreements, etc.), the extended Executive Board recommends using gender-neutral wording (e.g. students). If this is not possible, the formulation in pairs (e.g. professors) should be used.
In exceptional technical cases, a formulation with an asterisk โ*โ (e.g. professors) can be used instead of the pair formulation. As an application aid, the "Guidelines for gender-sensitive language at Thuringian universities - โSag's doch GLEICHโ from Thuringian Equality Competence Network recommended.
Internal university communication remains unaffected by this regulation.
