Nordhausen is the intersection of the Halle - Kassel and Erfurt - Nordhausen railway lines. Trains run hourly in both directions on both lines from 5 am to 11 pm. There is also a railway connection from Nordhausen to Wernigerode.
There are also various long-distance bus services.
You can reach the campus from the railway station by bus line A, direction Pferdemarkt (bus stop "Hochschule", directly on campus; runs every 20 minutes) or by bus lines K and 21 (bus stop "Hallesche Straße", campus entrance south).
