You want to protect the environment and develop technologies that simplify recycling and reduce environmental pollution? The degree course Environmental and Recycling Engineering at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has its focus in the process engineering with a special engineering-technical orientation.

Interdisciplinary, you study environmental protection and the extraction of secondary raw materials during your studies. Other important topics of the degree course are (among other things) the energy production from waste - for example biowaste - and methods for reducing air pollution.

The Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is one of the few universities in Germany where you receive comprehensive training covering biological, chemical, mechanical and thermal process engineering. The specialization is on recycling technology. Numerous laboratory internships and field trips will show you how different methods and techniques are implemented in practice.

Course structure

Environmental and Recycling Engineering is a degree course with a clear engineering-technical orientation. It focuses on process engineering. In addition, the engineering foundations of mechanical engineering are combined with the special requirements of environmental and recycling technology. Technologies are treated and developed that make it possible to use waste as secondary raw materials.

As an engineering discipline, process engineering includes physical, biological, chemical and thermal transformations and their synthesis into process flows as well as apparatus and plant engineering. It is used both in the production of industrial goods and in the recycling of materials. For the process engineering is thus a scientific approach formative.

The additional interdisciplinary offer (business, law, foreign languages) guarantees a competent and professional profile as a Bachelor of Engineering.
