Using e-media at home (Shibboleth)

Members of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences can use Shibboleth to access licensed electronic services (databases, journals or e-books) from outside the university campus.

With a single sign-on, members of the university can use various services regardless of their current location. The type of device used (e.g. laptop, tablet PC or smartphone) is irrelevant.

Beck online

The Beck online database currently contains approximately 550 e-books on legal topics.

EBSCOhost E-books

As part of a DFG-funded national license, you have access to 1,000 e-books from EBSCOhost within the university. Available are e-books from 1995 to 2006 on the following subject areas:

  • Business and Economics
  • Science and Engineering
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Humanities
  • Area Studies

The e-books can also be searched via the Discovery Tool or the OPAC of the university library.

Hanser

There are 16 titles on engineering topics available via the Hanser eLibrary. These can be searched via the Discovery Tool.

Nomos

As part of a DFG grant, you have access to around 1,700 e-books, primarily on legal topics.

All titles are available as a complete download from the campus network. The e-books can also be searched via the Discovery Tool or the OPAC of the university library.

ProQuest

About 780 e-books from the field of social sciences are available via the ProQuest platform. It is possible to download the contained e-books chapter by chapter.

The e-books can also be searched via Discovery Tool or the OPAC of the university library.

Thieme

62 e-books on topics in psychology and psychotherapy are available through the Thieme Connect publisher database.

UTB eLibrary

Through the UTB eLibrary you have access to about 2,700 e-books from economic, social and engineering science topics.

A chapter-by-chapter download is possible.

Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht

The database of the publisher "Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht" offers you access to a variety of e-books on topics in the humanities and social sciences.

Via the Content Select platform, it is possible to access 400 e-book titles from Walhalla Verlag. These include legal and business topics.
