Welcome to the Institute for Social Medicine, Rehabilitation Sciences and Healthcare Research website!
The institute for social medicine, rehabilitation sciences and healthcare research has existed since January 22nd, 2013 and was solemnly initiated by the founding members, professors and scientific assistants of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences study programme Health and Social Services.
One of the most important areas of expertise of the institute is fundamental and application-oriented research in the fields of social medicine, rehabilitation sciences and healthcare research, especially in the area of rehabilitative and therapeutic social work, including studies, transdisciplinary early intervention as well as systemic counseling and therapy.
Furthermore the institute supports the organization and ongoing development of the regular study programmes Health and Social Services (B.A.), Inclusive Studies (B.A.), Therapeutic Social Work (M.A.) as well as the postgraduate study programmes Systemic Counselling (M.A., extra-occupational) and Transdisciplinary Early Intervention (M.A., extra-occupational).
In addition the scope of expertise of the institute embraces advisory support for institutions and business organizations dealing with rehabilitation, health care and social services and the organization and realization of scientific events and training courses for health care, rehabilitation and social work professionals.
The institute's members give advisory opinions on sociomedical, rehabilitation- and healthcare-related issues.
The institute works in close cooperation with the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Braunschweig-Hannover and other cooperation partners. It is characterized by a wide range of research topics and interdisciplinary teamwork based on specialized expert knowledge.
During the next weeks and months an information platform for interested cooperation partners, potential employers, as well as for students and practising professionals in healthcare and welfare will be developed on these websites, informing you particularly about research priorities, survey results as well as scientific events and other news concerning the institute.
