Master Science Camp „SUSTAINABILITY“

What is that supposed to be?
As part of the Pro Thuringian Life Cycle – ProTELC project, a project of the Allianz THÜRING, science
camps will be held twice a year and the first one took place in spring 2022. All participating
Thuringian universities with engineering courses take turns and develop joint programs for Bachelor
and Master Science Camps.

When is the next one?

From August 29th to September 2nd, 2022, the 2nd Science Camp of all Thuringian universities will
take place as part of the ProTELC project at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
It will also be the first science camp for master's students!
What are the requirements?
Requirements for participation in the Science Camp are a completed bachelor's degree in
engineering and a valid enrollment in an engineering master's degree.

What can you expect?

The main topic of the first Master Science Camp will the generic term sustainability. However, more
is not revealed at this point. Just so much in advance: We have come up with a few exciting and
demanding tasks from a wide variety of disciplines. You can also expect:

• An informative and exciting presence week at the Nordhausen University of Applied
• Sciences.
• Kick-off meeting (online) for all participants on Monday, June 13, 2022.

The exact time will of course be announced later.

• (Online) preliminary courses in June and July, to prepare all participants for the attendance
• week and to coordinate the tasks.
• Complex tasks dealing with the topic of sustainability in theory and practice.
• Guest lectures and excursions.
• Working as part of a team.
• Introducing and implementing interdisciplinary solutions for the tasks set.
• Camping together on campus.

So far so good, but what´s the point of a Science Camp?

First of all new impressions. However, the Science Camps primarily serve to connect students and
leave their own comfort zone. For example, a person studying computer sciences may have an
insight into biogas technology.
In addition, however, the result-oriented work as part of an interdisciplinary group should also show
that in later professional careers only a single department is rarely working on a problem at a time.

How can I enroll?

To enroll, we need a simple E-Mail with the following information:

• Last name; First name
• Phonenumber and Adress
• Proof of an enrollment in an engineering master's degree.
• Grade List and name of your master's degree.

!Registration deadline is May 27th, 2022!
Please note: Even if there is a lot of interest, only 5 participants can be selected from each university.
All applicants will receive an acceptance or rejection between May 27th, 2022 and June 1st, 2022.
